Árainn Mhór to host Oireachtas committee
On 22 September, Árainn Mhór will be the venue of an official sitting of the Committee on Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands, demonstrating the importance of involving all the people of Ireland in the work of Parliament and the democratic process. It will be the first time Oireachtas business will be broadcast live from outside Parliament's Leinster House complex.

The National Parliament (Oireachtas) consists of the President and two Houses: Dáil Éireann (House of Representatives) and Seanad Éireann (the Senate) whose functions and powers derive from the Constitution of Ireland enacted by the people on 1 July 1937. The Houses of the Oireachtas are situated at Leinster House, Dublin.
